Reviews– Ricoh renewed its old C6003 MP Series with four new devices. This review will focus on the MP C3004 and MP C3504 devices. It prints the MP C3004 and copies at 30 ppm in black and color, while the MP C3504 has a motor speed of 35 ppm in black and color. There is a warm-up time of 25 seconds and a first color time of 7.1 seconds Copy. Both multifunction devices offer standard printing, copying, and scanning, but reception is an option.

The MP C3004 ($ 12,689) and C3504 MP ($ 15,155) start with a 1.33 GHz processor, 2 GB of memory and a 250 GB hard drive. Users can optionally add another 250GB hard drive and additional memory that maximizes to 4GB. The PCL language and print PDF is standard, but PostScript is only offered as an option. USB and Ethernet connectivity is standard and Ricoh offers parallel and optional wireless connectivity. Mobile printing is supported by the Ricoh Smart Device Connector application.

Ricoh has upgraded its control panel to provide a 10.1 “touchscreen with slider functionality called smart operator panel.Users can customize their own everyday access workflows such as one-touch or one copy printing, Applications or access the Network. Users can download widgets and applications on the Ricoh application site.

Ricoh also offers an optional Fiery color controller that includes a 2.9GHz processor, 2GB memory, 500GB hard drive and Ethernet connectivity. It supports various color tools such as ICC color chart profiles, RGB color test, and ColorWise Pro Tools.

The MP C3004 and MP C3504 are scalable machines with strong features for small to medium sized offices looking at color and multifunctionality.
