Reviews– MFC-7340 is the cheapest product in the fresh Brother line-up of mono laser multifunction. Offers simplicity and cost-efficiency in the package earnest, for small businesses that require a multifunctional that is cheap to run, the MFC-7340 may be appropriate.

With a color scheme of beige and gray two-tone, MFC-7340 unit is not the prettiest we’ve seen. However, for the medium-quantity multifunction laser was quite compact. This unit has a 250-page paper tray capacity, as well as single manual feeder page. However, the MFC-7340 paper output tray is surprisingly adequate. The relatively low price of the MFC-7340 comes at the cost of some office productivity features. Connectivity is limited to a single USB 2.0 port – Ethernet will be charged an additional $ 100 for the MFC-7440N while Wi-Fi can only be found in the flagship MFC-7840W,  which costs an extra $ 200. There is also a duplex function, and fax speed is limited to 14.4kbps underestimated – speeds are generally only found on standalone fax cheap.

We were not impressed with the speed multifunction print, but its ability to perform consistently throughout the quality settings were not impressed. MFC-7340 offers three different quality settings, ranging from 300dpi to 1200dpi. Regardless of the selected quality setting, the page will print on average 21 pages per minute. Although this is not the fastest speeds we’ve seen, it is commendable when printing at 1200dpi.

MFC-7340 is very capable of producing clean and tidy perfect quality text, with only a small difference in brightness between the level of quality. A side-by-side comparison with the same test document printed by Fuji-Xerox Phaser 8560MFP demonstrates the same quality, even though the wax appearance of the Phaser 8560 gives a better image quality for the document. However, for pure document printing, the MFC-7340 is very good.

Image and document scanning is also quite fast, but the quality is not fantastic. The image is scanned with the MFC-7340 is darker than their original, sacrificing detail in darker images. This is also the case with graphics and text scanning, causing the text to be a bit muddy and color accuracy deviated from the original.
