Like the ADS-1000W, the ADS-1500W is a compact desktop scanner that Brother is targeting mainly small and home offices. However it can be adjusted as well in larger offices as a personal desktop scanner. Physically, the two share an almost identical design, except that the ADS-1500 is in black and white instead of black everything. Both measure the same 3.3 11.2 4.1 inches (HWD), giving the same way as a brick, and a footprint that is only about half the size of a typical desktop scanner.

To use either the upper deck, which becomes an input tray that extends upward and rearward from the scanner and reveals an automatic document feeder 20 sheets (ADF) is open. Instead of an output tray, there is simply an exit slot in the front, near the bottom. There is also an entry slot on the back of the embossed plastic cards. The ADF can handle multiple sheets of paper up to letter size or individual sheets of up to 8.5 inches wide by 34 inches long.

A key difference between the two scanners is that the ADS-1500W offers a control panel touch screen 2.7-inch color that is not in the ADS-1000W. It also provides additional commands on your menu, including an exploration of the Web option, which allows you to directly scan to an assortment locations, including SkyDrive, Box, Google Drive, Evernote, Dropbox, and more.
